            Appliances make up a large part of your electricity bill. Homeowners rely more on appliances than ever before which means this percentage is slowly increasing. If you are in the market for new appliances, then it is the perfect time to switch to more energy efficient appliances.
            Energy efficient appliances have lower running costs. The money saved on an appliance that uses less energy can amount to a lot over the usage period. This makes an energy efficient appliance with a higher price tag a more cost effective option in the long run.
             The best way to see how energy efficient an appliance is before buying is to look at the energy efficiency rating on the appliance and compare these ratings before making a final purchase decision. There are energy efficiency ratings on televisions, computer monitors, air conditioners, clothes dryers, dishwashers, washing machines, fridges and freezers.

Using the data from Energy Star the following are the best energy efficient appliances.

Refrigerator: For standard refrigerators, marvel - Ml24WBP*** if the best energy efficient refrigerator, with an annual energy use of 151 kWh.

Washer: The LG WM9500H*A clothes washer only uses 151 kWh a year and around 4588 gallons of water annually.

Dryer: Some of the top clothes dryers include the Miele PDR908 HP & Bosch
WTW87NH1UC, both being ventless dryers, which is great for many homeowners or renters.

Dishwasher: Miele is the most dominant brand within dishwashers, with more than 30 EPA approved dishwashers on the market. Their G G 6875 SCVi SF model’s annual energy use is 199 kWh/yr and the water use is 3.2 gallons per cycle.
